The role of mapping

Below is a series of maps co-created by Dane "D-Dawg" Carlson and yours truly. It depicts the immense political tension involving oil fields around the Strait of Hormuz.

The goal of the exercise: understand that the medium of mapping is never purely representative. Like any form of expression, it reflects underlying intentions (or at the very least, biases) that should be fully acknowledge.
